GGOG11 – Andrew Sullivan is Full of Shit, Noah!

Published On April 9, 2014 | By Gay Gods of Gaming | Podcasts

Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich resigns after a storm of criticism following his donation in support of gay-marriage-banning Proposition 8. Debate rages on the interwebz: was he right to step down? Has he been silenced by wicked queers? Purged? Hounded? Gay journalist Andrew Sullivan (often excellent) wrote in support of Eich - multiple times – and he was completely full of shit. We pass judgment. Then, that weird Noah movie. What’s up with that? These atheist deities (get your head around that!) quite liked it…

  1. Sheldon says:

“Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and offended to discover that there are other views.” — William F. Buckley, Jr.

James & Corey, I shall hold this podcast as an example for my undergraduates in philosophy, for in your discussion about Eich, you managed to demonstrate 11 (out of the 14 cf. Irving Copi) logical fallacies. I leave it as an exercise to the listener to taxonomize them. Suffice I summarize, your arguments are what I come to expected from Leftists being inconsistent both in action and thought. James, you are not a hypocrite, but you are intellectually dishonest to hold such a position.
Corey, Eich’s consistency in his opinion does not make him ‘wrong’, neither morally or rationally, just because his opinion did not evolve under the persuasion of public consensus. Opinions are neither ‘right’/correct or ‘wrong’, they just are. His actions in workplace policy and LGBT advocacy demonstrate a case in point wherein a person can hold opinions that may (or may not) run contrary to the collective whole of the company for which they work and represent and yet adhere and support the interests of the company.

Corollary to Buckley’s axiom, ‘Leftists demonstrate tolerance by excising those views they find objectionable.” Or as the Left may say, “You are free to hold any opinion you want so long as it agrees with us.”
